JAKARTA - A woman in her 70s was killed and two others injured as a result of being crushed by the wreckage of a Ukrainian drone that was destroyed in Russia's southwestern region, Lipetsk.

Governor Igor Artamonov said the debris fell in a residential building in the district around the regional capital.

"Saving services and emergency agencies are working on upgraded efforts," Artamanov said.

The scale of the attack and the total damage is not yet known. There has been no immediate comment from Ukraine about the attack.

Both sides have denied targeting civilians in their attacks during the war Russia waged on Ukraine more than three years ago. However, thousands of civilians were killed in the conflict, most of them Ukrainians.

Ukraine launched several airstrikes on Lipetsk, a strategically important territory with an air base that is the main training center for Russian Aerospace Forces.

Kyiv attacked Russian air bases to reduce Moscow's ability to use its warplanes to strike targets in Ukraine and hit the front lines with guided bombs and missiles.

In August, the Ukrainian military attacked the Lipetsk airfield, damaging a supply of guided bombs and causing a series of explosions.
