KPK Finds IDR 2.8 Billion And Senpi In Topan Ginting House, Bobby Nasution's Subordinates

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) found billions of rupiah in cash at the house of Typhoon Obaja Putra Ginting or Typhoon Ginting, the former Head of PUPR Office of North Sumatra Province.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the money was obtained by investigators who searched Topan's house today, July 2. This forced effort is related to the alleged bribery of the PUPR Service and the PJN Satker Region 1 North Sumatra.

"The team conducted a search at the suspect TOP's house. During the search, the team secured a sum of money worth Rp. 2.8 billion," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 2.

Budi also said that investigators found firearms in the activity.

"For the first type, Barreta's pistol with 7 rounds of ammunition," he said.

"And the second type of air rifle with 2 packs of air gun ammunition," continued Budi.

The discovery of this firearm will later be coordinated with the police.

"Regarding the origin of the firearms, investigators will investigate it and coordinate it with related parties," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the North Sumatra region on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that money was given in the road construction project in the province.

From this activity, five people were finally named as suspects. They are the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (PUPR) Topan Obaja Putra Ginting or Topan Ginting; Effendi Siregar Rasul as the Head of the UPTD Gunung Tua North Sumatra Province PUPR Service concurrently the Commitment Making Officer (PPK); Heliyanto as PPK PJN Satker Region I North Sumatra Province; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar as the President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi PIlang as the Director of PT RN.

The Typhoon was inaugurated as Head of PUPR on February 24 by the Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution. He previously served as Head of the Public Works Service or the Department of Water Resources, Highways and Construction Development of Medan City and had sat as Acting (Plt) Medan City Secretary when the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia sat as Mayor of Medan.

Setelah ditetapkan jadi tersangka, Topan bersama empat orang lainnya akan ditahan di Rutan KPK. Upaya paksa ini dilaksanakan selama 20 hari pertama dan akan diperpanjang sesuai kebutuhan penyidik.
