The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Is Ready To Investigate Other Allegations Of Corruption In North Sumatra After The Snare Of Typhoon Ginting, Bobby Nasution's Subordinates

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the alleged bribery of the PUPR Service and the North Sumatra PJN Satker Region 1 is thoroughly investigated. Development has the opportunity to be carried out if evidence is found.

"We don't just stop this arrest activity. The KPK is still investigating and exploring things related to other projects," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo to reporters quoted on Wednesday, July 2.

Budi also invited the public to report allegations of corruption in North Sumatra. Every complaint that comes in will definitely be followed up.

"People, anyone and anywhere when they find or know of allegations of corruption, can report, submit their complaints to the KPK through the channels of complaints from the KPK community," he said.

The KPK, continued Budi, also appreciated the support of the people of North Sumatra after last week's hand arrest operation (OTT). The active action then ensnared Typhoon Obaja Putra alias Topan Ginting, who is a former Head of PUPR for North Sumatra Province along with four other people.

"We see a lot of flower bouquets sent from the public who have high hopes," he said.

As previously reported, the KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) in the North Sumatra region on Thursday, June 26. It is suspected that money was given in the road construction project in the province.

From this activity, five people were finally named as suspects. They are the Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (PUPR) Topan Obaja Putra Ginting or Topan Ginting; Effendi Siregar Rasul as the Head of the UPTD Gunung Tua North Sumatra Province PUPR Service concurrently the Commitment Making Officer (PPK); Heliyanto as PPK PJN Satker Region I North Sumatra Province; M. Akhirun Efendi Siregar as the President Director of PT DNG; and M. Rayhan Dulasmi PIlang as the Director of PT RN.

The Typhoon was inaugurated as Head of PUPR on February 24 by the Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution. He previously served as Head of the Public Works Service or the Department of Water Resources, Highways and Construction Development of Medan City and had sat as Acting (Plt) Medan City Secretary when the son-in-law of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia sat as Mayor of Medan.

Setelah ditetapkan jadi tersangka, Topan bersama empat orang lainnya akan ditahan di Rutan KPK. Upaya paksa ini dilaksanakan selama 20 hari pertama dan akan diperpanjang sesuai kebutuhan penyidik.
