Commission X Of The House Of Representatives Supports North Bali Airport Development: Could Be A New Civilization Icon And Cultural Epicenter

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission X DPR Lalu Hadrian Irfani responded to the plan to build North Bali International Airport (BIBU) which recently received the blessing of President Prabowo Subianto.

According to him, the second airport on the Island of the Gods could become the gateway to North Bali's civilization as the world's cultural epicenter. "The construction of North Bali International Airport is not just an infrastructure project, but can also become an icon of a new civilization that is able to integrate the development of education, culture, research and literacy sectors," said Lalu Ari, Monday, June 39. "North Bali International Airport will be a catalyst for the transformation of the North Bali region, not only as an economic driver, but also as the main node for cultural diplomacy, world-class education, and a research ecosystem based on local Balinese wisdom," he continued.

Therefore, Lalu assessed that the presence of BIBU must be followed by the preparation of a strategic ecosystem that involves revitalizing vocational education and tourism polytechnics in North Bali through synergies with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and the Ministry of Culture (Kemenbud).

He also asked the government to involve centers of Balinese-based cultural and international research studies to make the Island of the Gods a living universe' of the Archipelago culture.

In addition, he said, digitalization and modernization of cultural literacy with the support of the National Library (Perpusnas) and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), so that Bali's cultural heritage is documented and accessible to the world in a sustainable manner.

"As well as the involvement of the younger generation of Bali through creative, innovative, and global-minded youth programs through the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports," said Lalu.

Then assessing this is important considering that President Prabowo wants the airport construction to later strengthen Bali to compete with airports in neighboring Indonesia.

He also appreciated President Prabowo's commitment. According to him, this is in line with the mandate of the 2025-2029 RPJMN, where the education, culture, and research sectors are the main foundations in encouraging quality and fair growth.

"The House of Representatives Commission X will encourage North Bali International Airport not only to become a physical gateway, but also the gateway to civilization that appointed North Bali as the epicenter of world culture," said Lalu.

As a representative of the people who sit on Commission X of the DPR with the fields of education, culture, research and youth, Lalu also reminded the importance of making the local people of North Bali the main subject of development.

"Education, training, and empowerment of human resources must be an integral component of this investment. Because Bali is not just a tourist destination, but a world window to understand Indonesia. And North Bali Airport is the door to the future," he said.

Lalu menyatakan Komisi X DPR siap mengawal dan mendorong integrasi kebijakan lintas sektor untuk memastikan pembangunan BIBU sejalan dengan nilai-nilai budaya dan peningkatan kualitas SDM.
