JAKARTA - An Indian Navy (AL) military staff named Vishal Yadav who leaked sensitive information to Pakistan in cases of espionage reportedly addicted to online games and in debt.
Rajasthan Police Officer, Milikukant Gupta said, "Yadav is paid for the cryptocurrency he disbursed himself in helping physical money".
"He received money through cryptocurrency trading accounts and also directly into his bank account," Gupta said based on an NDTV report quoted from Hindustantimes, Sunday, June 26.
Yadav was arrested in reconnaissance operations for months by the Indian Rajasthan Police intelligence team.
The alleged perpetrator is said to be constantly communicating on social media with a woman named Priya Sharma, who is believed to be a member of the Pakistani intelligence agency (ISI).
Gupta said the ISI agent paid STAV in exchange for sensitive Indian information.
Currently Yadav is being held at the Interrogation Center in Jaipur. An Indian intelligence team is investigating the extent of the breach and the possible involvement of others in this spying act.
Previously, a YouTuber from India's Haryana state named Jyotimen was arrested on charges of espionage. Police claimung was in contact with a Pakistani officer during Operation Sindoor.
Efforts to take action and supervision of espionage activities in India were increased after the incident in Palaligam ended in a war with Pakistan from 7 to 10 May 2025.
