JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reportedly arrested Typhoon Obaja Putra Ginting or Topan Ginting as Head of the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) in a hand arrest operation (OTT) on Thursday, June 26. He was taken along with five other people to Jakarta.

This was conveyed by a VOI source, who said that Typhoon had arrived at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. This figure is called the last batch to arrive.

The Typhoon was inaugurated as Head of PUPR on February 24 by the Governor of North Sumatra Bobby Nasution. He previously served as Head of the Public Works Service or the Medan City Water Resources, Highways and Construction Agency and had served as Acting (Plt) of the Medan City Secretary.

This position was occupied by Typhoon when Bobby, who is also the son-in-law of the President of the Republic of Indonesia-7 Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was still serving as Mayor of Medan.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo has not specified who the six people were caught in the silent operation. He only mentioned that there were state civil servants (ASN) who were brought along.

"The parties who have been detained consist of ASN or state and private administrators," he said in a written statement, Saturday, June 28.

Budi said this arrest was related to project work in North Sumatra Province. However, the investigation is still being carried out by examining the six people.

"It's true, related to projects at the Provincial PUPR and projects at the North Sumatra PJN Satker Region 1. So so far there are two acceptance clusters," he said.

"Of course, the construction of the case will be explained in its entirety," concluded Budi.
