The body of Brazilian climber Juliana Marins, who was the victim of an accident on the Mount Rinjani hiking trail, was canceled at the Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital, West Nusa Tenggara.
"The autopsy is planned to be carried out in Bali," said Deputy Governor of NTB Indah Dhamayanti Putri after seeing the condition of Juliana's body at the Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital, Thursday, June 26, as reported by ANTARA.
The cancellation of the autopsy in Mataram is because the forensic doctor who has expertise in the autopsy is currently in Semarang.
"The autopsy doctor is again outside the region, only one is in NTB. So, we are looking for the closest option in Bali, and the NTB Police Chief has coordinated with the Bali Police Chief," he said.
Furthermore, the hospital is currently finalizing the administration of the need for corpses to be brought to Bali.
"After the administration is complete, it will be dispatched by ambulance from Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital," he said.
Regarding the cost of handling corpses while in NTB, Indah emphasized that this was included in the responsibility of the local government.
"So, this grief does not only belong to the family, but also belongs to the people of NTB, because the victims come as tourists in NTB, all of us, we convey our deep sorrow," said Indah.
