Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Jhonny G. Plate said the Police were involved in infrastructure development because several locations were in rural areas. Where the location is considered prone to social security disturbances.

"So for that today I met and discussed with the Chief of Police how to work together to ensure the implementation of development runs smoothly in Kominfo work areas throughout Indonesia," Jhonny told reporters, Tuesday, May 4.

"Now in this rural area there are many challenges, including the challenge of community service and of course with the support of the National Police, hopefully this can be done well," he continued.

Jhonny also said that cooperation with the National Police was very important. This is because the completion of infrastructure development throughout Indonesia is targeted to be completed in 2022.

At least, the infrastructure development will be carried out in_83,548 villages and wards in Indonesia.

"This cooperation is very strategic and very important for the smooth development of ICT infrastructure in difficult areas, in tough areas; in the 3 T region which has to cross oceans, straits, climb mountains, down valleys, and canyons which are extremely challenging ," he said.

Meanwhile, the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, said that he would support all Kemenkominfo programs. Including the matter of infrastructure development.

The reason is that the internet network and so on are very important. Especially when it is currently being hit by a pandemic which must apply how online works.

"We also know that this is our common need. Moreover, all countries are currently facing the COVID pandemic situation, so that it is related to the needs of the community to then adapt, get used to, from offline to online," said Sigit.

"This is of course a necessity that must be supported by advances in information technology, both in the world of education, economy, health, and other things which inevitably have to make adjustments," continued Sigit.
