Allegedly Receiving Gratification, Former Secretary General Of The MPR Reportedly Becomes A KPK Suspect

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is currently investigating allegations of receiving gratuities related to the procurement of goods and services within the MPR RI. One suspect is reported to have been named in this case.

"MC as Secretary General at the Secretariat General of the MPR RI for the 2019-2021 period has been named a suspect," said a VOI source, Monday afternoon, June 23.

Meanwhile, from a number of searches, the MC in question is Ma'ruf Cahyono. He reportedly received gratuities so he was charged with Article 12B of the Anti-Corruption Law.

The KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo has not detailed the identity of the suspect. He only agreed that there were parties who were already entangled in this case.

"There are already suspects," he said when confirmed by reporters.

To investigate the alleged receipt of gratuities, investigators began examining two witnesses. They are the Cucu History who is the Officer for the Procurement of Goods/Services for Delivery and Multiplication at the Secretariat General of the MPR RI in 2020-2021 and Fahmi Idris who is the Working Group of the Goods and Services Procurement Work Unit (POKJA-UKPBJ) at the Secretariat General of the MPR RI in 2020 on Monday, June 23.

They were examined at the KPK's Red and White building. "Investigators are still investigating this case by examining witnesses," said Budi.

Previously reported, the KPK is also investigating allegations of corruption at the Secretariat General of the DPR regarding the procurement of furniture or furniture at the official residence of lawmakers. It is suspected that the filling of the living room to the bedroom was rigged.

A number of suspects have been named, one of which is the Secretary General of the DPR RI Indra Iskandar. However, the KPK has not made any arrests to date.

The spokesman for the KPK at that time, Tessa Mahardhika, said that the detention of Indra and the suspects was still waiting for the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to calculate state losses. Certainties are needed to make forced efforts.

"We respect the BPKP auditor who is currently calculating, he hopes that it will be completed soon and this case can be immediately transferred to the public prosecutor," Tessa told reporters quoted on Friday, March 14.
