21-Year-Old Cipinang Resident, East Jakarta, Killed by Sharp Weapon Not Far from Kebon Nanas Toll Gate

JAKARTA - Adam (21), a resident of Cipinang Besar Selatan Sub-district, lost his life after being slashed with a sharp weapon by a group of youths near the Kebon Nanas Toll Gate, Jalan D.I Panjaitan, Cipinang Cempedak Sub-district, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.

The victim had serious injuries on the left side of his neck, left hand and fingers, and left foot due to being slashed with a sharp weapon.

Jatinegara Police Chief, Commissioner Samsono, said the violent act occurred last Sunday, June 22.

"He died allegedly due to a brawl. Sunday at around 02.30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), the Jatinegara Police received a report of a brawl at the Kebon Nanas Toll Gate. At 02.45 a.m. WIB, members checked the scene of the brawl, but the incident had ended," he said when confirmed, Monday, June 23.

The police then conducted a search around the crime scene. The police found blood stains on the road near the Kebon Nanas Toll Gate entrance.

"Then I ordered Jatinegara Police personnel to conduct a check at the nearest hospital from the scene," he said.

At around 03.30 a.m. WIB, Jatinegara Police personnel conducted a check at the Premier Jatinegara Hospital with the result that one person died due to the brawl.

"(the victim) was taken by two people to the Premier Jatinegara Hospital. We immediately secured the person who took (the victim) to the Jatinegara Police," he said.

After an investigation, the two men took the victim to the hospital at around 02.10 a.m. WIB. Then the team of doctors had time to perform medical action in the Emergency Installation room.

"After medical action was carried out by the officers of the Premier Jatinegara Hospital, the person was declared dead at around 02.35 a.m. WIB, then the victim was taken to the Police Hospital at 06.00 a.m. WIB," he said.
