Jakarta's Air Quality Enters The Top Three Worst In The World Friday Morning

JAKARTA - Air quality in Jakarta on Friday, June 20 morning is categorized as unhealthy and is ranked third as the worst air city in the world.

Based on data from the IQAir air quality monitoring site at 05.47 WIB, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Jakarta is at 159 or is categorized as unhealthy with PM2.5 air pollution and a concentration value of 67.2 micrograms per cubic meter.

This figure has an explanation of the level of unhealthy air quality for sensitive groups because it can harm humans or groups of animals that are sensitive or can cause damage to plants or aesthetic values.

The site also recommends air conditions in Jakarta, namely for the public to avoid outdoor activities. If you are outdoors, wear a mask, then close the window to avoid dirty outside air.

While the category is good, namely the level of air quality that does not have an effect on human or animal health and does not affect plants, buildings or aesthetic values with a PM2.5 range of 0-50.

Then, the moderate category, namely the quality of the air that does not affect human or animal health but affects plants that are sensitive and aesthetic value with a PM2.5 range of 51-100.

Then, the category is very unhealthy with a PM2.5 range of 200-299 or its air quality can be detrimental to health in a number of segments of the exposed population. Finally, it is dangerous (300-500) or in general its air quality can harm the population's serious health.

The city with the worst air quality in first place, namely the City of Kuwait (Kuwait) at 184, second in Kinshasa, (Kongo) at 160, fourth in Lahore (Pakistan) at 155 and fifth in Santiago de Chile (Cile) at 119.

The DKI Jakarta Environment Agency (DLH) launched an integrated air quality monitoring platform supported by 31 points of Air Quality Monitoring Station (SPKU) spread across the metropolitan city area.

From the SPKU, then the data obtained is displayed through the air quality monitoring platform. This is made as a refinement of the existing ones and in accordance with national applicable standards.
