Nurul Arifin: Bahlil's Communication Style Reflects New Politics That Is Effective And Easy To Understand By The Public

JAKARTA - The style of political communication of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) as well as the General Chair of the Golkar Party, Bahlil Lahadalia, has received positive attention from various circles. Nurul Arifin, a member of the Golkar Party faction of the DPR RI and the Chairman of the MPO (Media and Opinion Raising) of the Golkar Party, called this style of speech by eastern Indonsia politicians as a form of modern political communication that is close to the people.

According to Nurul, Bahlil has a straightforward communication character, directly to the core of the problem, and minimal rhetoric, an approach that Indonesian politicians in general rarely have.

"Pak Bahlil talks as it is, is not long-winded, and always to the point, is very authentic typical of himself. That is the power that makes people easy to capture their messages. In today's political context, it is a very important added value," said Nurul Arifin in Jakarta, Wednesday (18/6/2025).

Nurul added that the style of Bahlil referred to by some observers as Bahlilian Style is a reflection of the low-context communication pattern, which emphasizes openness, honesty, and effectiveness in delivering messages.

"This is not just a matter of being outspoken, but how communication is used as a tool to touch public logic and reasoning. Pak Bahlil has that sense, and does not hesitate to convey criticism or directions in a simple but familiar way," said Nurul.

For example, Nurul highlighted how Bahlil often criticizes the low work ethic of local workers in a straightforward but grounded style. According to him, such statements are not just criticism, but a form of motivation conveyed in a way that is close to people's daily lives and easily accepted by the public.

Nurul also considered that this style of communication is very relevant to the political needs of the Golkar Party today, a party that is transforming to become the main force in national politics.

"Golkar needs a leader who can speak clearly, answer problems without disguising him, and has the ability to convey the party's vision to the public in easy-to-understand language. Bahlil is the one who has it all," he said.

Nurul emphasized that Bahlil's straightforward communication style is actually a strategic force in building public trust. For Nurul, this style shows courage, honesty, and leadership that is oriented towards tangible results.

"Pak Bahlil can not only speak firmly, but also show integrity in every word. In the midst of many politicians playing words, he is present as a sincere figure and dares to speak as is. This is a very rare quality and is needed in our politics today," said Nurul.

With its distinctive communication style and realistic approach, Nurul views Bahlil as a reforming figure in national politics, as well as a symbol of the leadership of the Golkar Party which is modern, straightforward, and in favor of the interests of the people.
