JAKARTA - The US Embassy in Jerusalem reiterated its warning that it could not help Americans in Israel leave the country.
"The US Embassy is currently not in a position to evacuate or directly help Americans leave Israel," the embassy said in a recent security warning on Monday, June 16 local time.
The notice instructs all US government employees and their families to continue to take shelter on the spot.
The US issued a similar guide a few days ago after Israel launched its initial attack on Iran, which sparked a back and forth attack that has now entered its fifth day.
Israel's main international airport and all seaports remain closed, with no commercial or charter flights leaving Ben Gurion Airport.
The embassy advised those wishing to leave the country to use land crossings to Jordan and Egypt, where flights operate.
The warning reminded Americans to take precautions and find out the location of the nearest shelter in the event of mortar attacks, rockets, missiles, and drones.
