JAKARTA - Musician Iwan Fals said, Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka is suitable for 2024. In 2024, Indonesia will hold a presidential election.

Iwan Fals said this in response to Gibran's move to return illegal levies (extortion) to a number of traders in Klewer Market.

"This looks like it will be suitable for 2024," wrote Iwan, who has a Twitter account @iwanfals who commented on a video.

In the one-minute 48-second video, Gibran appears to be advising traders not to give money to people who ask on the grounds of zakat fitrah.

Because, according to him, only the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) can ask for zakat fitrah money.

Later, the village head who asked the merchants for money on the grounds of zakat fitrah was fired by Gibran.

The dismissal of the village head named Suparno received protests from residents. The residents thought it was inappropriate for Suparno to be fired because he was considered a great man.

Gibran said that Suparno had a clear mistake and had to be fired as his responsibility.

"The mistake is clear. The letter is clear, what kind of letter he wrote, what kind of editor. Yes, still wrong, he is responsible," said Gibran at Solo City Hall, Central Java, Monday, May 3.

Gibran also invited residents who wanted to collect signatures of support as a form of protest so that their village head would not be fired.

"Yes, please, I'm not in the way. What is clear is the mistake is clear," Gibran said.
