SOUTH SUMATRA - The police uncovered a rape case against a female student from a boarding school (ponpes) in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU), South Sumatra by arresting a suspect with the initials FA (40).

"FA is an individual leader of a boarding school in Tanjung Kemala Village, East Baturaja District, OKU Regency," said OKU Police Chief AKBP Endro Aribowo in Baturaja, Tuesday, June 10, as reported by Antara.

He said the FA was arrested by the OKU Police Ogan Lion Team in Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region on June 3, 2025 at 18.30 WIB.

The suspect fled after committing immoral acts against his own 13-year-old student.

The police chief explained that the case emerged after the victim's family with the initials BS reported the immoral act committed by the boarding school administrator to the OKU Police.

The heartbreaking incident occurred on April 11, 2025, in the back room of the boarding school while the victim was on picket night at around 02.00 WIB.

"The perpetrator raped the victim four times. The motive in this case was due to lust when the suspect saw the victim's body," he said.

In addition to arresting the suspect, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of one long purple trousers, a black skirt, and the victim's underwear.

For his actions, the suspect will be charged with Article 81 paragraph (2) of Law Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection, as amended by Law Number 35 of 2014, regulating the threat of punishment for perpetrators of sexual intercourse crimes against minors by trickery or persuasion.

"The threat of imprisonment is a maximum of 15 years and a fine of Rp. 5 billion. However, punishment can be increased by one-third of the criminal threat because the suspect is an educator who should educate his students well," he said.
