Prosecutor's Office Will Name New Suspects In The PAD Mega Mall And PTM Bengkulu Corruption Cases

BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) said there would be a new suspect in the alleged corruption case of regional revenue leakage (PAD) from the management of Mega Mall and the Bengkulu City Traditional Market (PTM).

Currently, the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office has named three suspects in the corruption case, namely the President Director of PT Tigadi Lestari as well as owner of Mega Mall Bengkulu, Wahyu Laksono President Director of PT. Dwisaha Selaras Abadi and former Mayor of Bengkulu for the period 2007 to 2012 as well as former member of the Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD) Ahmad Kanedi.

"It doesn't stop here, there are many suspects (PAD Mega Mall and PTM corruption cases in Bengkulu City)," said Head of Section (Kasi) Investigation of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Danang Prasetyo, in Bengkulu City, Monday, June 9, confiscated by Antara.

He said that currently his party is continuing to carry out investigations and coordinate with the media crew to inform the results of the investigation and determination of new suspects.

Meanwhile, investigators from the Bengkulu Special Prosecutor's Office have also examined four large banks including under the auspices of state-owned enterprises (BUMN).

The examination was carried out because assets belonging to the Bengkulu City Government (Pemkot), namely the modern shopping center Mega Mall and PTM, have been collateral or elegant to four banks since 2004.

Previously, the PAD leak corruption case started with Mega Mall land and Bengkulu PTM switching status from Land Management Rights (HPL) in 2004 to Building Use Rights Certificate (SHGB).

Then the SHGB was broken down into two, namely for Mega Mall and PTM Bengkulu City, because it had been broken down, the certificate of use for the building was used as collateral to banks by third parties, and when credit was in arrears, SHGB was returned to other banks and owed to third parties.

"The agreement between parties that is currently being investigated occurred in 2004, then 2005 until then there is no longer until now, the next agreements have been revised several times but there has never been an agreement. For details, the contents of the agreement between the mayor and third parties are technical and cannot be conveyed. We emphasize that this case will certainly continue and do not rule out the possibility that there will be additional suspects from both the private sector and state officials," explained the Head of Legal Information (Penkum) of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Ristianti Andriani.

The state losses in this case are currently still being calculated by the audit team, however, if viewed for a long period of time from 2004 until now, it is likely to reach hundreds of billions.

This is because since the inauguration of the modern shopping center building Mega Mall and PTM Bengkulu City in 2004 until now there has been no revenue or tax deposited into the Bengkulu City Government regional treasury.
