North Gorontalo DPRD Follows Up On Allegations Of Student Beating By Principal Of SDN 14 Sumalata

GORONTALO Commission III of the North Gorontalo Regional House of Representatives (DPRD), Gorontalo Province, is seriously responding to cases of alleged physical violence against students committed by unscrupulous principals of SD Negeri 14 Sumalata, Sumalata District.

Chairman of Commission III of the North Gorontalo DPRD, Dheninda Chaerunnisa, stated that his party immediately coordinated with the Education Office and initiated a joint working meeting to follow up on the case.

"We will not remain silent. This allegation of beatings seriously injures the world of education and must be handled seriously so as not to become a bad precedent in the school environment," he said, as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, June 8.

Commission III has also contacted the Head of the North Gorontalo Education Office to ask for quick handling of this incident. In addition, all relevant parties will be invited to a work meeting to discuss concrete steps to resolve the case.

Personally, Dheninda, who is also the youngest DPRD member, emphasized her rejection of all forms of violence in the school environment. He emphasized the importance of creating a safe, comfortable, and happy atmosphere for students during the teaching and learning process.

"Children spend about 10 hours every day at school. School should be a place that gives them a sense of security and happiness, not fear," he said.

He also added that the settlement of this case would be a reflection of regional commitments in creating an educational system free from violence.

"Commission III of the North Gorontalo DPRD will not neglect incidents like this. The world of education must be protected from violent practices in any form," concluded Dheninda.
