JAKARTA - Thousands of residents packed the Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri/2025 prayer in front of the Jalan Jatinegara Barat church, Jatinegara, East Jakarta, as proof of religious tolerance.

The Eid prayer in front of the old church of GPIB Coinionia Jatinegara starts at 06.30 WIB to 07.40 WIB. The congregation's staff were seen starting to fill up in front of the church.

"The total number of pilgrims from year to year varies, once at most 20 thousand pilgrims, now it can reach around 13 thousand people. Of course this is proof of the high tolerance of religious communities with the implementation of Eid prayers right in front of the church," said the Chief Executive of Eid al-Adha in Jatinegara, Ilham Fajar Beruru, after Eid prayers in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, Friday, June 6, confiscated by Antara.

The executor of the Eid prayer in front of the Jatinegara church has been carried out for generations since 1972.

"We have been of a generation from before. We also see the situation because it is right in front of the church, and we all often chat about upholding high solidarity," said Ilham.

In addition, the implementation of Eid prayers in front of the church is an attraction for Jakarta residents outside Jatinegara.

"We also invite officials to attract the public, especially those who have been poor across Jakarta because Jakarta is the central city," said Ilham.

One of the residents who also prays Eid al-Adha in Jatinegara, Safa (32) admitted that he was happy to perform Eid prayers in front of the church. According to him, the prayers here feel more unique and are seen as a symbol of religious tolerance.

"Interesting, it's my first time because I happened to be staying at a hotel around here. I saw that there were a lot of people, and they continued to attract the front of the church," said Safa.
