JAKARTA - Global airlines again suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv after a missile fired by Yemen's Houthis rebels to Israel on May 4 landed near the country's main international airport.

A number of previous airlines resumed flights after a ceasefire agreement with Palestinian militant group Hamas was reached in January.

But Israel continued military operations in Gaza in March and stepped it up in May.

Reported by Reuters on Wednesday, June 4, the airline that temporarily suspended its flights to Israel included United Airlines, Ryanair, Lufthansa including Ita Airways

As previously reported, Israel was again subjected to a projectile attack. In retaliation, the Israeli military attacked the location of weapons belonging to the Syrian regime in southern Syria, in Israel's second attack.

The retaliatory attacks came after Israel reported two projectiles were fired from Syria on Tuesday.

It is not clear who is responsible for the two projectiles.

The state news agency Syria and security sources reported a series of Israeli attacks targeting several locations in rural Damascus and Quneitra and Daraa.

Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, previously said it considers Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa responsible for the two projectile launches.

"We consider the Syrian president to be directly responsible for threats and gunfire against the State of Israel, and a full response will be given soon," Katz said.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the launch of the projectile against Israel had not been verified.

The Syrian Foreign Ministry reiterated that Syria has never and will not pose a threat to any party in the region, state news agency SANA reported.

"We believe that there are many parties who may be trying to disrupt regional stability to achieve their own interests," the Syrian authorities continued.
