JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Religion (Wamenag) Father Muhammad Syafii greeted Indonesian pilgrims at Hotel 312, Makkah. On that occasion, the Deputy Minister of Religion invited them to maintain their health and enthusiasm ahead of the peak of the hajj in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).

Accompanied by Amirulhaj members such as Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy and Amirsyah Tambunan, Syafii stated that this year's Hajj service was running better than before.

"Alhamdulillah, so far there have been no complaints of flights. Even more timely than last year," he said in a press release, Sunday, June 1.

In a relaxed atmosphere, Syafii recalled his previous Hajj experience which was much simpler, from rooms without air conditioning, elevators, to suitcases that had to be taken care of himself. He conveyed the story to show the improvement of current Hajj services.

"In one room, 14 people, now 3 to 5 people with air conditioning and toilets. We must be grateful," he said.

Syafii reminded that the hajj major is not seen from social status, but from increased piety after Hajj. Rich people who are not proud of their wealth, but use it for benefit, that is the hallmark of mabrur hajj,' he said.

He also had a dialogue with the congregation regarding health services. One of the congregation said that there were health posts that were active in serving, including referrals to hospitals if needed. Syafii also emphasized that medical officers are still ready to help, as long as they do not violate Saudi Arabian government regulations.

"If it is not handled, convince the congregation and take them to the hospital," he said.

Meanwhile, a member of Amirulhaj, Amirsyah Tambahan, invited the pilgrims to be patient. He said patience is an important thing that Muslims must apply. "If the suitcase is scattered, are you patient or not? If you separate from where your husband and wife are patient or not?" asked Amirsyah.

"Be patient," answered the congregation.

He said the pilgrims must remind each other to be patient. He said the congregation had been given time to carry out the pilgrimage so they had to be patient and make good use of their time. "Let's say patient, let's take action together now," said Amirsyah.
