JAKARTA - The Bangka Belitung Island Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force stated that the number of confirmed COVID-19 patients died increased by four, bringing the total to 217 people.

"With the addition of patients who died today, the death rate for people with confirmed COVID-19 is at 1.58. percent", said Bangka Belitung Island Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force spokesman Andi Budi Prayitno in Pangkalpinang, reported by Antara, Monday, May 3.

He said four COVID-19 patients died on Sunday night, scattered in Bangka Regency, two people and West Bangka is two people, so the total number of people who died from the coronavirus has reached 217 people.

"These four people died of old age, because of comorbidities such as diabetes and heart disease", he said.

According to him, the management and burial of the bodies of COVID-19 patients are the responsibility of the health service facilities and the task force.
