DONGGALA - Commander of the Palu Naval Base (Lanal) (Danlanal) Marine Colonel (P) Martinus Sir checked the infrastructure for sea transportation modes at Donggala Port, namely KM Dharma Kencana V.

"So this check is based on our initiative from the Indonesian Navy in Palu to see the extent of sea transportation activities by friends of Dharma Lautan Utama (DLU) who have been actively participating in driving sea traffic, be it personnel, carrying materials from between islands and between cities in the Central Sulawesi region," said Martinus Sir while at Donggala Port, Thursday.

He stated that KM Dharma Kencana V is a prototype or role model for modern transportation that is very accommodative for passengers in this area.

"Of course, all with the available infrastructure can provide satisfaction for passengers so that everyone can enjoy the voyage," he said.

He said that KM Dharma Kencana V could continue to encourage the improvement of ship services and strengthen all facilities to support sea transportation in Central Sulawesi and generally in Indonesia.

"The facilities at KM Dharma Kencana V are extraordinary so that if possible all sea transportation in this area can provide complete infrastructure to encourage passengers to choose the ship," he said.

Martinus hopes that in the future KM Dharma Kencana V can be even greater considering the occurrence of a large enough surge in passengers using sea transportation, especially during Eid al-Fitr and Christmas and New Year's homecoming.

It is known that the Wani Port and Donggala Port were inaugurated on March 27, 2024 by President Joko Widodo after rehabilitation and reconstruction after the 2018 disaster.

There are a number of motorboats (KM) operating in the ports of Donggala, Wani, and Pantoloan such as KM Dharma Kencana V, Lambelu, Labobar, and Belt Nusantara 89.
