PekanBARU - Riau Police through the Directorate of Traffic continue to try to reduce the number of accidents and build a culture of orderly traffic in the community.
One of the concrete steps that is now being developed is strengthening the function of the Indonesia Safety Driving Center (ISDC) as an integrated driving safety training and training center.
According to the Dirlantas Polda Riau, Kombes Taufiq Lukman, SSDC is not only a place to learn driving techniques, but is a center for character formation and awareness of road users to be more concerned about the safety of themselves and others.
"This ISCC is designed to educate anyone directly involved in traffic activities, including novice drivers, professional drivers, traffic officers, to driver and SIM tester. The main goal is clear: to create safe, orderly, and safe traffic," said Kombes Taufiq.
Learning materials at the ISDC include basic driving safety theories, legal rules, driving techniques, traffic ethics, handling emergency situations, to studying accident cases.
All of this is applied in the form of direct training and simulations, according to participant needs. On the other hand, the ISDC is also developing a parenting approach to establish collective awareness that safety is a shared responsibility.
Furthermore, Kombes Taufiq emphasized that strengthening the ISDC was also part of the Riau Police's support for the National Public Plan for Road Traffic and Transportation Safety (RUNK LLAJ) which consisted of five main pillars of safety which were part of this national program.
The five pillars are road safety management, safe roads, safe vehicles, safe road users behavior, and handling of victims after the accident.
What we encourage is how people who are on the road have awareness. It's not just a matter of being able to drive, but about ethics, responsibility, and concern for safety," he said.

The ISDC is also equipped with supporting facilities such as areas of practice, simulation, and laboratories for traffic accidents.
In addition, its existence supports various strategic policies such as competency-based SIM issuance systems, traffic behavior records through the Traffic Attitude Record (TAR), and the implementation of a dimerit point system connected to an extension of the SIM.
"ISDC is a tangible form of Polri's concern in saving lives. This is not a short-term program, but a serious step towards realizing a more disciplined and civilized traffic culture," concluded Kombes Taufiq.
With a structured curriculum, certified trainers, and modern learning approaches, the ISDC is expected to become a leading center for traffic safety not only in Riau, but also nationally.
