Residents Must Ask For A Task Letter When Visited By People Who Claim To Be Police

JAKARTA - The public is advised to always be vigilant if there are individuals who come and claim to be police officers.

If this happens, residents are asked to immediately ask for proof of their identity and official assignment letter to avoid fraud or abuse of authority.

North Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol Ahmad Fuady, emphasized the importance of this step in order to maintain the safety of residents.

"Don't hesitate to ask them to show their identity and warrant. If it's not clear, immediately report it to the authorities," said Fuady in Jakarta, as quoted by ANTARA.

Fuady also highlighted public unrest due to illegal debt collection activities or debt collectors who acted outside the legal limit. He emphasized that the authorities will take firm action against debt collectors who commit unlawful acts and disturb the public.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the police together with the TNI are committed to taking action against thuggery practices and controlling the attributes of community organizations (ormas) that disturb public order.

The public is also invited to dare to report if they find illegal levies or situations that interfere with public peace in their respective environments.

The police chief also emphasized the important role of environmental administrators such as RT and RW in maintaining order and creating open communication between residents.

"Maintaining environmental security is a shared responsibility, not just the duty of the police," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Penjaringan Metro Police, AKBP Agus Ady Wijaya, also added that his party was watching the problem of illegal carts that damaged urban planning. He stated that he would cooperate with the relevant agencies to carry out control.

Agus also invited the public to reactivate environmental security systems such as night patrols or turns of guard, especially during vulnerable hours such as worship time, to prevent criminal acts.
