2 BMW Sedan Reportedly Confiscated By KPK Regarding Allegations Of Corruption At The Ministry Of Manpower

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confiscated six cars and one motorbike related to the alleged corruption of the Foreign Workers Placement Plan (RPTKA) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker). Two of them are reportedly BMW branded.

There are two BMWs, one is orange. It's two doors and one is white, a sedan, quoted from a VOI source, Thursday, May 22.

The two BMW sedans that were confiscated were already at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta since Tuesday, May 20.

Meanwhile, KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo did not want to specify the brand of six cars and one motorbike that was confiscated from the search which was carried out on May 20-21.

"We will tell the details later," he told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, May 22.

Investigators called Budi are still investigating further the car and motorbike. "Is it used or the result of the alleged corruption crime," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). A total of eight suspects, two of whom are Suhartono and Haryanto as former Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK).

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was an allegation that there was extortion of prospective foreign workers (TKA) who would work in Indonesia. This familiar practice was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).

"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.
