COVID-19 Update As Of May 1: New Cases 4,512, Active Cases 100,250

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 63,217 specimens were examined with the results of 4,512 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,672,880 people and 100,250 active cases," he was quoted as saying from the Ministry of Health's data, Saturday, May 1.

Cases recovered today increased by 4,344 cases, so that a total of 1,526,978 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases that died increased by 131 people and a total of 45,652 people.

The province with the most new cases was in DKI Jakarta with 926 cases and a total of 409,549 cases. Followed by West Java which has 754 new cases with a total of 281,959 cases. Riau has 377 new cases and a total of 44,656 cases. Then, East Java has 231 new cases and a total of 147,977 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 793 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 760 recovered cases, West Sumatra with an increase of 333 recovered cases, and Riau with an increase of 333 recovered cases.

There are three provinces that reported no new cases today. Provinces that reported zero new cases were Maluku, North Maluku and Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 14,682,656.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 17.51 percent," he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 69,943 people. Currently, 510 districts / cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Currently, 12,443,263 people have been vaccinated against the first dose of COVID-19 and 7,667,583 vaccinated against the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of priority vaccination for phase 1 and 2 reached 40,349,051 people.
