Visiting The KPK's Red And White Building, The Labor-SPN Party Urges Corruption At The Ministry Of Manpower To Be Completely Investigated

JAKARTA - The Labor Party and the National Workers Union (SPN) have urged the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to thoroughly investigate allegations of corruption in the management of the Foreign Workers Placement Plan (RPTKA) at the Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker). All parties suspected of being involved must be held accountable for their actions.

This was conveyed by the Labor Party and SPN during an action in front of the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, May 22. Secretary General of the Labor Party Ferri Nuzarli said the case proved the abuse of authority against granting permits for foreign workers.

"We are very sincere, sincere about this to the government and hope that these eight suspects may widen," Ferri said at the location.

"Lebaring is not only in the government, it might happen at the TKA organizers," he continued.

Meanwhile, Iwan Kusmawan as General Chair of the National Workers Union (SPN) said that the corrupt practices being handled by the KPK are actually old songs. This is a common secret that is already known, including his party.

"We have known for a long time. 2020-2023. This is the entrance to continue, the KPK is investigating who is involved. It's not just eight people but we really believe that it is behind these eight people," said Iwan.

"So we ask those who took office at that time, both ministers, directors and all directors to be examined immediately," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to the placement of foreign workers or the management of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA). A total of eight suspects, two of whom are Suhartono and Haryanto as former Director General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Binapenta and PKK).

Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu said there was an allegation that there was extortion of prospective foreign workers (TKA) who would work in Indonesia. This familiar practice was carried out by the Directorate General of Manpower Placement and Expansion of Job Opportunities (Ditjen Binapenta and PKK).

"(The Ministry of Manpower at the Directorate General of Binapenta collects or forces someone to give something," Asep said when confirmed by reporters, Tuesday, May 20.

Asep said the suspects were suspected of violating Article 12e or Article 12b of the Anti-Corruption Law. The practice is alleged to have occurred for the period 2020-2023.

The search has been carried out at the Ministry of Manpower office on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, May 20. From this activity, investigators then confiscated three cars.
