JAKARTA - Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday that Israel's intensive military ground operations in Gaza and new evacuation requests had pushed the health system beyond the collapse point.

In an upload on Instagram Ghebreyesus noted, Indonesian Hospitals, Kamal Adwan, and Al-Awda, along with three clinics and four health points, were in the evacuation zone announced by Israeli occupation soldiers on Tuesday.

He also noted that two other hospitals, four clinics, and six health points were within one kilometer of the area, quoted from WAFA on May 21.

Ghebreyesus said the European Gaza Hospital and other health points in southern Gaza were in the evacuation zone announced on Monday.

He noted that Nasser Medical Complex, Syuhada Al-Aqsa Hospital, five clinics and 17 health points were about one kilometer from this area.

He continued, "Even if health facilities in Gaza are not attacked or forced to evacuate, attacks on the area there and the presence of soldiers prevents patients from accessing health services and prevents WHO from resupply to hospitals. This can quickly disrupt hospital operations."

Ghebreyesus stressed the WHO's call for immediate protection of health services, stressing the need not to target hospitals and implement a ceasefire.
