Blora Flood! 1,600 Houses Submerged, Ngawen Break Bridge

BLORA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Blora Regency, Central Java noted that 10 sub-districts were affected by flooding and the houses of residents affected by the flood reached around 1,600 units, due to flood inundation and entering residential areas.

"The impact of the flood also caused one of the connecting bridges in Ngawen District to be cut off, due to the high water discharge of the river following high rainfall since Monday (19/5) afternoon until the evening," said Blora BPBD Rapid Response Team (TRC) Agung Triyono, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 21.

The bridge that was affected by the flood at 18.30 WIB, he said, was a Temuwoh bridge located on the border of Talokwohmojo-Kedungsatiyan Village on Jalan Trembulrejo-Randualas, Ngawen District, Blora Regency.

Meanwhile, the 10 sub-districts affected by the 16 sub-districts in Blora, include Districts of Kundugaran, Ngawen, Cepu, Sambong, Kradenan, Jepon, Banjarejo, Randublatung, Kedungtuban, and Blora Kota.

Because most of the road access was also flooded, road access was diverted to a safe road from floodwaters. Warning blocks or police lines are also installed on unsafe roads.

In addition to inundating up to 1,600 residents' houses, it was recorded that one house of a resident of Punggursgulih Village, Ngawen District, was reported to have been damaged by the flood.

For today's flood inundation, he said, it began to decline after on Tuesday (20/5) morning the average water level reached 30 centimeters.

The Blora BPBD team together with joint officers are also still collecting data related to the distribution and level of damage in each region due to floods that hit Blora Regency.
