The Attorney General's Office Confiscates 2 Fields Of Assets Convicted Of ASABRI Case In Garut

JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Asset Recovery Agency (AGO) has secured the assets of two plots of land belonging to the convict in the corruption case of the Indonesian Armed Forces Social Insurance (ASABRI) in Leles District, Garut Regency, West Java.

"Asset security is an activity that has a juridical basis in order to prevent state-owned assets from changing hands and is controlled by other parties illegally," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the Garut Jaya District Attorney's Office, P. Sitompul in Garut, Monday, May 19, confiscated by Antara.

Jaya said that the AGO's Asset Recovery Agency accompanied by Garut Prosecutor's Office officers, Garut Land Office, and Salamnunggal Village Government, Leles District secured land assets belonging to the convict in the ASABRI corruption case Adam R. Damiri in the form of one area of 1,216 square meters and another plot of land covering an area of 1,305 square meters in Salamnunggal Village, Leles District.

The asset security, he said, was based on a follow-up to the implementation of the Supreme Court Decision Number 5772 K/Pid.Sus/2022 dated October 4, 2022, on behalf of the convict Adam R. Damiri.

"The convict Adam R. Damiri stated that the two land objects in question were declared confiscated for the state," he said, confiscated by Antara.

It was also revealed that the AGO team first carried out physical verification of the land assets before installing the sign as a sign that the two objects in the land parcel were secured by the state.

DURING the installation of a sign that reads "TANAH AND/OR IS CONFISCATED BY THE STATE AND WILL BE AUCTIONED", it runs smoothly and safely.

"The security of the two assets is carried out in a conducive and safe and controlled situation," said Jaya.

He explained that securing the assets was to maintain asset protection related to criminal acts of crime from transfer to other parties, loss, lack of amount or change resulting in reduced value.

On that occasion, he appealed to the community around the location of the land object to jointly supervise.

On the other hand, he also appealed to local government officials not to issue or process the transfer of land ownership in any form or eliminate and close the installed sign.

"Do not process the transfer of ownership in any form, measurement, transfer of name, or issuance of certificates to both land or destructive objects, eliminate, and/or cover the existence of board signs," he said.
