PEKANBARU A member of the Senapelan Police, Aiptu Chandra (47), was seriously injured after being stabbed by a thug when he was about to arrest a fugitive in a violent theft (curas) case. The incident occurred on Jalan Karet, Sago Village, Senapelan District, Pekanbaru City, Sunday, May 18.

The police also confiscated a round knife used by the perpetrator to attack the victim. During the examination, Jufrizal admitted that he had served several criminal sentences, three times in Bagan Readyiapi and once in Pekanbaru.

Meanwhile, Aiptu Chandra's condition is still in intensive care at the hospital. The police stated that they would ensnare the perpetrator with a serious article for assaulting the officers on duty.
