CIKARANG - Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tirta Bhagasasi, Bekasi Regency, ensured that the clean water supply, which had been suspended for a week in the South Tambun and Babelan sub-districts, had now returned to normal.
"The water has been flowing again since Friday, May 16. The process of repairing and relocating the pipeline was completed last Thursday night," said President Director of Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi, Reza Luthfi Hasan, when confirmed in Cikarang, Antara, Sunday, May 18.
Reza said that the channel relocation effort was carried out by replacing the old network to the new channel. This step targets more than 4,000 customers affected by the disruption of clean water distribution.
The installation of interconnect pipes is carried out to connect the main distribution network from the Tarumajaya Branch to the Babelan Branch. This project is centered on Jalan Pertamina Kedung Pengawas, precisely in front of Panjibuwono City Housing.
"We installed an interconnection pipe using the boring method. The distribution network from Tarumajaya was connected to a new pipe, while we closed the old damaged network with valve," said Reza.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the distribution of clean water in Tarumajaya remains safe because the area is now receiving supplies from the Jatiluhur I SPAM project.
"This means that customers in Tarumajaya are not affected. The water distribution remains smooth because the system is integrated with Jatiluhur water sources," he explained.
Although the flow of water has returned, Perumda Tirta Bhagasasi apologized for the inconvenience experienced by residents during the disturbance. It also considers providing compensation to affected customers.
"During the disruption, we continue to distribute clean water assistance to residents. For compensation, it is a further consideration by management," said Reza.
Head of the Engineering Section of the Babelan Branch, Nailul Author, added that the flow of water is now starting to return to normal in a number of housing areas. However, his party is still doing the process of washing out and draining the air in the pipe so that the water pressure is stable.
"We also continue to distribute clean water assistance to anticipate customers who have not fully received the flow," said Nailul.
