Anwar Sadad's Assets Purchased Using Corruption Money Were Traced By The KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is tracing assets allegedly purchased by members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the Gerindra Party faction Anwar Sadad from bribes for managing grant funds for community groups from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 period.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the investigation was carried out by examining three witnesses, one of whom was Kusnadi. They were questioned at the Banyuwangi Police Station on Wednesday, May 14.

The KPK previously mentioned Kusnadi as the former chairman of the East Java DPRD. However, this is rectified because Kusnadi is a private employee.

"All witnesses were present. The witness was investigated regarding the ownership and sale of land assets allegedly owned by the US," Budi said in a written statement, Thursday, May 15.

Apart from Kusnadi, there were two other witnesses who were examined to explore Anwar's assets, who previously served as Deputy Chair of the East Java Provincial Government DPRD for the 2019-2024 period. They are Sumantri as a farmer and Teguh Pambudi who is a notary.

As for this case, the KPK has confiscated land and building units in Surabaya and an apartment unit in Malang worth Rp. 8.1 billion on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. This asset allegedly belongs to Anwar Sadad.

In addition, Anwar Sadad was also questioned on Wednesday, January 8. Investigators asked for his statement regarding the ownership of assets suspected of originating from corruption money.

Previously reported, the KPK again investigated the alleged bribery of grant funds for community groups or pokmas from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 Fiscal Year. 21 suspects have been determined from the development of the case.

In the process of running, a number of locations have been searched by investigators. Among them are the house of former DPD Chairman La Nyalla Mattalitti and the East Java Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) office.

In addition, the KPK has asked the Directorate General of Immigration of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) to prevent 21 people from leaving the country in this case. They are KUS which is a state administrator or member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; AI, a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; MAH, a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD; and AS a member of the East Java Provincial DPRD.

Also prevented by BW, JPP, HAS, SUK, AR, WK, AJ, MAS, AA, AYM, AH, RWS, MF, AM, and MM as private parties; FA as a member of the Sampang Regency DPRD; and JJ who is a state administrator or member of the Probolinggo Regency DPRD.
