Banten Governor Andra Soni regretted the actions of a number of people on behalf of local employers' associations or organizations, who allegedly asked for a project allotment of IDR 5 trillion without auctions to the main contractor for the construction of the PT Chandra Asri Alkali (CAA) factory in Cilegon City.
"Today I regret this incident, because we are all trying to provide comfort to industry players or business actors and investments in Banten Province," said Andra Soni as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 14.
He emphasized that investment in Banten is a joint effort for regional progress, not for the benefit of certain groups.
"And as the Governor of Banten who is trying to become the same Banten, I am very disappointed and I hope this kind of incident doesn't happen again. Let's support together, because this investment is not related to one or two groups, but this investment is related to the entire Banten community," said Andra.
He reminded all parties to maintain a healthy and conducive investment climate so that Banten remains a friendly area for domestic and foreign investors.
