Polda Metro Sets 13 Members Of The Anarko Group To Be Suspects In May Day Action

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has named 13 people as suspects in the anarchic action that occurred during the commemoration of International Labor Day or May Day in Jakarta. They are said to be part of the anarchist group.

"His status has been raised as a suspect, 13 people," said Head of the Public Information Sub-Division of the Metro Jaya Police, AKBP Reonald Simanjuntak, Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

The suspects who were determined based on the results of the case title had the initials S, MZ, DS, HW, MB, TJ, GS, MF, EF, MM, JA, TA, and AH. According to Reonald, investigators believe there are allegations of criminal acts in the actions of the perpetrators.

Even though they have been suspects, they have not yet been detained. The suspects also did not fulfill the first summons sent by investigators. Therefore, the second summons will be issued soon.

"We urge the 13 suspects to cooperate and fulfill the summons. If they are still not present at the second summons, investigators will carry out forced pick-ups according to criminal procedural law," said Reonald.

Regarding the reasons for not being detained, he stated that this was entirely a discretion of investigators. 'Detention is not a must. It can be done, but it is not mandatory," he said.

In this case, 10 of the 13 suspects were charged with Article 212 of the Criminal Code concerning resistance to officers (threats 1 year 4 months), and/or Article 216 of the Criminal Code and Article 218 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of 4 months 2 weeks in prison. Meanwhile, the other three suspects are suspected of violating Articles 216 and 218 of the Criminal Code.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said that dozens of suspects were arrested for committing anarchic acts, including throwing stones at toll road users and fighting officers.

"Their actions caused vehicle damage and endangered public safety. Therefore, strict action was taken," said Ade Ary.
