Bandarlampung Police Deploy 90 Personnel To Secure Vesak

LAMPUNG - Bandarlampung City Police (Polresta) deployed 90 personnel to secure the celebration of Vesak Day 2569 or 2025.

"We have distributed these personnel to eight Viharas, in Bandarlampung City which carries out Vesak Day," said Head of Public Relations of the Bandar Lampung Police, AKP Agustina Nilawati, in Bandarlampung, Monday.

He conveyed that the personnel were divided into the Asurwa Vihara Bhumi Graha, Vihara Savanadipa Lampung, Vihara Cetya Meitreya Sutta, Vihara Cetya Sari Putra, Vihara Darma Citra, Vihara Po Sen Taiti (Rakasyu), Vihara Dharmamsidan and Vihara Maitreya.

"This security is carried out to ensure that Buddhists can carry out worship solemnly and safely," he said.

In addition to physical security, he continued, the police also coordinated with the vihara management and related parties to anticipate potential security disturbances.

"For the time of the Vesak holiday celebration in 8 monasteries, there are those who perform worship in the morning and evening, some even starting last night," he said.

The Head of Public Relations of the Medan Police added that his party had also anticipated the traffic flow transfer pattern that was carried out in the event of traffic congestion during the activity.

"We have also prepared a traffic diversion pattern in case of congestion during the Vesak celebration," he said.
