Alleged Abuse Of Private Jet Reported To KPK, Commission II Asks KPU To Be Cooperative

Toha said that the private jet rental scandal for KPU members for the 2022-2027 period was busy in the world of national and international media. Many have accused him of being a disgrace that does not reflect the posture of the institution that organizes the selection of candidates for national leaders.

The negative accusation now leads to a report to the KPK with evidence that can be ascertained to be investigated by investigators from the anti-corruption commission. He also asked the KPK to work professionally in handling the case.

"I hope that the KPU is cooperative and the KPK works professionally. If the KPU is proven to be misappropriating in the procurement of private or vice versa, the law must be enforced," said Toha, Saturday, May 10. Toha regretted that when the initial scandal was caught, law enforcement did not immediately investigate it. Even though at that time there was also a BPK report stating that the results of the KPU budget audit were not correct.

"Saya mengapresiasi pelaporan TII dan sejumlah LSM. Semua pihak juga patut mengapresiasi kinerja penyelenggara pemilu 2024. Tapi, karena pengadaan sewa jet sudah menjadi opini publik sebagai skandal. Kita harap KPK menyelesaikan laporan ini seadil-adilnya," ungkapnya.

Legislator PKB dari Dapil Jawa Tengah V itu mengatakan, kasus itu harus menjadi pelajaran bagi KPU di masa akan datang. KPU, menurutnya, perlu meningkatkan transparansi dalam proses pengadaan barang dan jasa, termasuk pengadaan privat jet, untuk mencegah terjadinya korupsi dan meningkatkan kepercayaan publik.
