JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said the process against reports of alleged riots was only submitted to the complainant.

This was conveyed by the KPK Spokesperson Team Budi Prasetyo when asked about the claim by Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) which stated that the report on the alleged corruption of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office, Febri Adriansyah, was in the investigation stage. All the follow-up actions taken by the anti-corruption commission cannot be conveyed.

"The series of processes in public complaints is information that cannot be conveyed to the public. Follow-up can only be submitted to the reporter," Budi told reporters when confirmed, Wednesday, May 7.

Even so, Budi said that every report that comes in must be a concern. Verification to ensure validity must be carried out.

"Then a review and analysis will be carried out to see whether there are allegations of corruption and whether it is under the authority of the KPK or not," he said.

"KPK also closed the identity of the reporter as an effort to maintain its secrets and security," continued Budi.

IPW Coordinator Sugeng Teguh Santoso said the report on the alleged corruption of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) of the Attorney General's Office, Febri Adriansyah, had entered the investigation stage. He learned after visiting the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta on Tuesday, May 6.

"After collecting the data, we reported it (to the KPK, ed) on May 27, 2024. Earlier we checked, it had gone up to the investigation," Sugeng told reporters at the location.

Sugeng explained the alleged corruption he reported related to the auction of the PT Gunung Bara Utama stock package. This process was allegedly carried out inappropriately because there was abuse of authority.

"So between those who were described for the confiscation, Rp. 11 trillion with a result of Rp. 1.9 trillion was a very far amount. What's going on," he said.

Sugeng understands that the investigation process at the KPK is certainly different from the police. However, he believes the increase in the status of the report means that there are criminal allegations.

Previously reported, Jampidsus Attorney General's Office, Febri Adriansyah, was reported by Indonesia Corrution Watch (IPW) along with a number of other community organizations to the KPK. He is suspected of being involved in corruption related to the auction of confiscated goods in the form of a package of shares of PT Gunung Bara Utama (GBU).

This share is a loot of the PT Jiwasraya insurance corruption case. This auction was held on June 18, 2023 and won by PT Indobara Putra Mandiri, which was said to have only been established 10 days before the auction explanation was delivered.

IPW believes that malicious conspiracy occurred in the auction process. State finances are also losing money due to this fraudulent practice.
