Wednesday Morning, Prabowo Will Receive Bill Gates' Visit At The Merdeka Palace

President-elect Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to receive a visit from the world's philanthropic figure and founder of the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025.

According to the Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, the meeting between Prabowo and Bill Gates will take place around 08.00 WIB.

The agenda for the meeting includes discussing a number of regional development initiatives, particularly related to global health issues, nutrition, financial inclusion, and strengthening public digital infrastructure.

Bill Gates' visit to Indonesia is said to be a form of support and appreciation for the implementation of the free nutritious eating program (MBG) which is one of Prabowo's policy priorities.

"Bill Gates will come to Indonesia and meet me. His request letter has been entered since last November. One of the goals is to express support and appreciation for our nutritious eating program," Prabowo said in a plenary cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace, last Monday.

Furthermore, Prabowo revealed that Bill Gates also plans to provide concrete assistance for the sustainability of the program. However, he has not detailed the form of support to be given.

"I don't know what the assistance will be like. However, I emphasize, help or not, award or not, this program is an investment for the nation's children. We must reduce poverty and strengthen the future of our people," said Prabowo.

This meeting is an important momentum in strengthening cooperation between Indonesia and international institutions in the field of social and health development, especially in improving the quality of nutrition and well-being of children in Indonesia.
