Floods Inundate Ciganjur, South Jakarta, 14 Residents Refuge

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that 14 people fled in Mushala Al Amanah, Ciganjur Village, South Jakarta, due to flooding caused by heavy rains and overflowing rivers in the local area.

"As of 21.00 WIB, 16 residents were still displaced and two RTs in East Cilandak Village and one road were still flooded," said Head of the DKI Jakarta BPBD Data and Information Center (Kapusdatin) Mohamad Yohan, in Jakarta, Saturday, May 4, confiscated by Antara.

He said the two RTs in Cilandak Timur Village were submerged in water as high as 70 centimeters and flooding was caused by high rainfall and caused Krukut River to overflow.

In addition, one road section on Jalan Puri Mutiara V, West Cilandak Village is also still flooded as high as 50 centimeters.

A number of areas that were previously flooded have receded, such as one RT in Mampang Prapatan Village and three RTs in Ciganjur Village, which were previously flooded, have now receded.

BPBD DKI Jakarta is still mobilizing personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region.

His party also continues to coordinate with the Natural Resources Office, the Highways Office, the Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure that the water lines function properly together with the local village heads and sub-district heads and prepare basic needs for survivors.

"The target is puddles to recede in a short time," he said.

BPBD DKI appealed to the public to remain careful and alert to potential inundation. In an emergency, immediately call telephone number 112.

"This service is free and operates for 24 hours non-stop," he said.

Previously, the rain that hit the DKI Jakarta area on Saturday, May 3, caused the increase in the level of the Pesanggrahan Monitoring Post to be on standby 3 (Alert) at 17.00 WIB, the Sunter Upstream Monitoring Post to be on standby 2 (Alert) at 17.00 WIB, and the Cipinang Hulu Monitoring Post to be on standby 3 (Alert) at 18.WIB which caused flooding
