JAKARTA - A total of 494 participants in the Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) of the National Selection Based on the 2025 Test (SNBT) at the University of Jember (Unej) were declared dead because they were not present at the exam which was held at the local campus.

"During the implementation of UTBK from April 23 to May 3, 2025, 494 participants were absent from a total of 13,403 participants," said UTBK Central Chairman SNBT Unej Prof. Slamin after the last day of UTBK, Saturday.

From the existing data, the highest and lowest number of participant absences occurred on the last day of the exam.

"In today's morning session, 86 participants were not present out of a total of 869 participants, while in the afternoon session there were 2 participants who were absent from 24 participants," he said.

According to him, the percentage of participants who attended the 2025 UTBK SNBT on the Unej campus reached 96 percent and overall the implementation of the SNBT UTBK on the Unej campus went well.

"The committee did not find any prominent events carried out by participants during the examination. It's just that the committee found that one participant was late in attending, so according to the rules it was not allowed to take the exam by the Person in Charge of Location," he said.

In addition, there were also participants whose health was disturbed during the exam, but thanks to the help of the Unej health team who were on standby, the participants were able to continue the exam until it was finished.

"In general, the implementation of UTBK SNBT on the Unej Campus is going well, except for the case of our temporary employees who help remote businesses access or access and control participant computer devices remotely," he said.

However, Unej is committed to maintaining the integrity of the implementation of UTBK SNBT and ensuring a fair and transparent selection process for all prospective participants.

The results of the UTBK SNBT will be announced on May 28, 2025 and Unej will receive 4,000 new prospective students from the test line.
