The DKI Provincial Government Finds Out Why The Quarantine Mafia Holds Airport Passes In The Name Of The Tourism Office

JAKARTA - Acting Head of the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf) Gumilar Ekalaya will find out why the suspect who passed Indonesian citizens from India so as not to undergo quarantine, has an airport pass in the name of the Tourism Office.

"How they can get airport passes is being explored," said Gumilar in a text message, Thursday, April 29.

Gumilar also emphasized that the suspects of the quarantine mafia were neither ASN employees nor retirees in the ranks of the Tourism Office. "He is not a retiree from the Parekraf Service," said Gumilar.

"The two unscrupulous persons are not employees of the Tourism Office ASN," he continued.

As previously reported, the police arrested the father and son for allegedly helping a foreign national (WNA) from India with the initials JD to enter Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta Airport without a quarantine period.

The father and son have the initials S and RW. They were arrested on Sunday, April 25th. In carrying out the action, the father and son claimed to be airport officers. They offered JD assistance in exchange for around Rp. 6.5 million.

The police said the perpetrator had an airport pass card from the DKI Jakarta Tourism Office. This card is a sign of permission to enter a restricted area to a certain area. Usually used by parties from certain agencies.

"If from the airport (card) they have, it is stated on the airport pass that the Jakarta Tourism Office," said Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police Chief Kombes Adi Ferdian.

Then, the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus again explained that the suspect is a retiree from the Tourism Service.

"He used to be a former employee, retired from DKI Tourism, already retired. Know the ins and outs of the airport, he can even leave. We are still investigating the pass, including his own children, there is an airport pass card. We will understand it," said Yusri.
