JAKARTA - Thousands of workers from various trade unions, began crowding the National Monument (Monas) area to commemorate International Labor Day (May Day) 2025.

Reported by ANTARA, Thursday, May 1, workers came from various directions in groups, either using bus vehicles, motorbikes, or some walking.

They wore the attributes of their respective places of shelter and there were also those wearing uniforms in the form of white T-shirts that read May Day 2025.

A worker from Bekasi, Sutisna, said that he came with his co-workers to commemorate Labor Day.

"We used the bus, from Bekasi earlier at around 07.00 WIB," he said.

According to Sutisna, the momentum to commemorate Labor Day this time is quite special because President Prabowo Subianto is pleased to attend and will have a dialogue with the workers.

He hopes that the presence of the President of the Republic of Indonesia at the event can bring goodness to the workers so that the government's policy is pro with them.

"Hopefully, of course, we want to be prosperous. Hopefully, the President can be more supportive of us, the workers," he said.

Currently thousands of workers are still arriving in the Monas area, they are wearing their respective attributes.

Previously, Polda Metro Jaya prepared as many as 13,252 joint personnel to secure the International Labor Day (May Day) activities this Thursday.

The tens of thousands of joint personnel consisting of 9,591 Polri personnel, 3,385 TNI personnel and 276 regional government personnel.

The commemoration of Labor Day or May Day is centered in the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta and is expected to be attended by around 200 thousand workers from Jabodetabek and its surroundings.
