KPK Council Summons Hasto Staff Lawyer Regarding Complaints Of Ethical Violations Of Investigator Rossa Purbo

Johannes Oberlin Tobing as the legal team of the Secretary General of PDIP Hasto Kristiyanto and his staff, Kusnadi, visited the ACLC KPK building today.

He complied with the summons of the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) following up on the complaint against Rossa Purbo Bekti. This investigator is the Head of the Task Force (Kasatgas) for the interim replacement bribery (PAW) of the DPR RI for the 2019 period and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared Hasto.

"The invitation is because we have made a complaint against any alleged ethical violations committed by the Head of the KPK Task Force named Rossa and the entire team," Johannes told reporters, Tuesday, April 29.

Johannes said there were a number of documents brought to be submitted to the KPK Council. "We will convey all our objections," he said.

"Any violations committed by KPK investigators, continue ..., then later we will explain everything there in the meeting with Dewas," continued the lawyer.

In addition, Johannes said that his party would also submit objections to Rossa's search and confiscation of Kusnadi. His client's personal belongings are said to have nothing to do with the case being handled.

Likewise with the confiscation of Hasto's cell phone or cellphone. "It has never been used in any crime related to the Harun Masiku case," he said.

Previously reported, the Supervisory Board of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that reports of alleged violations committed by one of the investigators, namely Rossa Purbo Bekti, had been received. The investigation is still being carried out as a form of follow-up to the complaint submitted by the PDI-P Secretary General (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto.

"It is true that we have received the report and are currently in process," said KPK Council member Benny Jozua Mamoto to reporters at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Friday, February 21.

Benny then explained that there are several stages that must be done in processing complaints. Among them are collecting data and information, asking for additional information, and asking for clarification.

"After that, then a report on the results of the analysis will be made. For later there will be conclusions and recommendations," he explained.

The process described will not interfere with the investigation of the bribery case for the interim replacement (PAW) of members of the DPR RI and the obstruction of the investigation that ensnared Hasto. Benny said the KPK Council only focused on the alleged ethical violation.

"Yes, that is the investigator's authority. We only handle complaints related to allegations of ethical violations or unprofessionalism," said Benny.
