Bogor Batulis Landslide, West Java DPRD Requests New Road Land Acceleration

BOGOR Deputy Chairperson of the West Java DPRD, Iwan Suryawan, encouraged the acceleration of land acquisition and construction of new roads as access to Batutuli Station, following the landslide disaster on Jalan Saleh Danasasmita, Batutuli Village, South Bogor District.

Iwan suggested that the land acquisition process use Unexpected Cost (BTT) funds to accelerate the mobility of residents who had been disrupted for more than a month.

"You can use BTT to be handled quickly. Yesterday Commission IV checked directly and communicated with the Bogor City Government. BTT or the revised budget can be used, but those who use BTT quickly," said Iwan Suryawan, Monday, April 29.

The PKS politician who is familiarly called Abah Iwan highlighted the condition of South Bogor residents who had to go long as the main access was cut off. He also reminded the risk of damage to alternative roads due to increased vehicle loads.

Abah Iwan appreciated the quick response of the Bogor City Government, the West Java Provincial Government, and the central government in dealing with this disaster, including plans to make the landslide area a green open space.

He also asked the government to continue to pay attention to the affected residents, especially traders around the location.

"We hope that the Bogor City Government will continue to communicate actively, registering residents who need assistance because their road access is cut off," he added.

Since Tuesday last week, the initial repairs at the landslide site began with asphalt stripping and the construction of the Land Detention Wall (TPT). The Mayor of Bogor, Dedie A. Rachim, explained that after the TPT was completed, the collapsed area would function as a Leuweung Batutulis, a new green open space in Bogor.

On the other hand, land acquisition for a new route to Batutulis Station is being accelerated. Deputy Mayor of Bogor, Jenal Mutaqin, said that the land acquisition financing scheme of Rp45 billion would be divided by 50 percent between the West Java Provincial Government and the Bogor City Government.

Chairman of Commission IV of the West Java DPRD, Rizaldy D. Priambodo, added that the technical process and budget discussion are being studied with the DPRD Budget Agency and the Governor of West Java.

The Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, who visited the location in mid-April, confirmed that the old road could not be reused for geological reasons.

"From the results of the study, this road can no longer be used. There are springs below it. The new road will be opened through Lawang Gintung to Batutuli Station," said Dedi.

The Bogor City Government is currently negotiating with the owner of an area of 3,000 square meters. After the release, a Detail Engineering Design (DED) will be prepared before entering the road construction stage.

The Bogor City Government has also formed a special team consisting of the PUPR, Disperumkim, and Dishub Offices to handle this project. The team will coordinate with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR).

Dedie ensured that although the cost of road construction is estimated to be only around Rp. 5 billion, the entire process will be carried out this year. The Bogor City Government has also lobbied the Deputy Minister of Public Works, Diana Kusumastuti, at a meeting at the Head Office of the Ministry of Public Works, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday 9 April.

With this acceleration, the government hopes that South Bogor connectivity can recover soon, residents' economic activities will return to normal, and the risk of traffic due to heavy alternative roads can be suppressed.
