Following Up On Prabowo's Directive, The Indonesian Army Places 1,728 New Soldiers In The Territorial Development Battalion

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Army (AD) has prepared 1,728 new soldiers to be placed in the Development Territorial Battalion (BTP) unit.

The new soldier is a student of the Tamtama Education (Dikmata) of the TNI AD Wave I for Fiscal Year 2025 at the Medan Artillery Education Center (Pusdikarmed), Cimahi, West Java.

Deputy Chief of Army Staff (Wakasad) Lt. Gen. Tandyo Budi R said the placement of soldiers in BTP units was in accordance with the program launched by President Prabowo Subianto when he was still Minister of Defense (Menhan).

"This is an implementation of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto's policy since serving as Minister of Defense in 2022, which encourages the construction of a comprehensive and people-based TNI force," said Tandyo as the supervisor of the closing ceremony of Dikmata, in Cimahi, West Java, Friday, April 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to Tandyo, during his education his soldiers had received a lot of knowledge related to professionalism, loyalty and nationalism.

The soldiers have also gained knowledge that supports the duty of soldiers to build border areas.

With the various types of knowledge received, he believes that thousands of his soldiers are ready to contribute to advancing remote areas of Indonesia through the BTP unit.

"The task in the future will be even more complex, so you must continue to develop yourself, maintain integrity, uphold the ethics of soldiers, and remain loyal to the nation and state," Tandyo told his soldiers.

Tandyo hopes that the momentum of closing this education can become a new chapter for his soldiers to present their best service to the nation.

"The education that you have taken is not the end of the struggle, but the beginning of service," he said.
