JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto responded to the news that the National Mandate Party (PAN) would again support him in the upcoming 2029 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

Prabowo emphasized that currently his main focus is working for the benefit of the people.

"Ah, that's going on. We'll work first for the people," said Prabowo at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Tuesday, April 22.

The question arose in line with political speculation about the coalition of parties supporting the government in the upcoming presidential election.

Prabowo hinted that the discussion on support in the 2029 presidential election has not been a priority.

According to him, the main task now is to complete various government programs for the benefit of the community.

It was previously reported that PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan stated that his party was ready to support Prabowo in the nomination of the 2029 presidential election.

"I also convey to Pak Prabowo the important thing, sir, my party is big. That's the most important thing. If the presidential candidate is please, if the vice president we will talk about it," Zulhas said at the Halalbihalal event and the Announcement of the Management of the PAN DPP in Jakarta, Sunday (20/4).

In mid-February, PAN Deputy General Chair Eddy Soeparno also said that his party was ready to provide support to Prabowo Subianto for the fourth time in the next presidential election.

He also admitted that he was happy and enthusiastically welcomed the decision of the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) of the Gerindra Party to re-nominate the General Chair of the Gerindra Party as well as the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto in the 2029 presidential election.

"So far, PAN has been fully loyal to President Prabowo in three elections. Likes and condolences with Pak Prabowo. Therefore, welcoming President Prabowo's declaration, PAN is ready to support him for the fourth time in the upcoming 2029 presidential election," said Eddy.

Regarding whether there are special requirements from PAN in providing support to Prabowo, he said that the support was completely unconditional.

"There are no special requirements, but if PAN cadres are invited, of course we are very grateful," said the Deputy Chairperson of the MPR.

According to him, support for Prabowo Subianto has a strong basis, namely Prabowo's people's commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind or no people are left behind.

This commitment, he continued, was realized through a real policy within the first 100 working days of his government.

"This policy includes eliminating the debt of MSMEs and fishermen while at the same time appointing a special minister to handle MSMEs," he said.
