The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has revealed how three suspects were involved in obstructing the investigation or obstruction of justice in the alleged corruption case of Pertamina, Timah, cooking oil, and sugar imports with the defendant Tom Lembong.
They are advocates Marcella Santoso (MS), lecturer and advocate Junaedi Saabih (JS), and Director of Public Relations of JAKTV Tian Bahtiar (TB).
Director of Investigation of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Abdul Qohar said the three had consensus or conspired to spread narratives to the public to create negative opinions against the AGO, always law enforcement officers handling the case.
"The suspects MS and JS ordered the TB suspects to make negative news and negative content that cornered Kejaskaan related to the handling of the a quo case both in the investigation, prosecution, and in court," Qohar told reporters, Tuesday, April 22.
"Suspect JS made positive narratives and opinions for his team, namely MS and JS, then making a methodology for calculating state losses in handling the a quo case carried out by the Prosecutor's Office is untrue and misleading," he continued.
The suspects Marcella Santoso and Junaedi Saibih also financed the demonstration. The goal is still the same, namely thwarting the investigation process.
Meanwhile, the suspect Tian Bahtiar (TB) published the negative narrative on social media, online media, and Jak TV news. One of the narratives highlights that the AGO is considered to have harmed the rights of the suspect or defendant.
"The suspects MS and JS financed the demonstrations in an effort to thwart investigations, prosecutions, and evidence of the a quo case at trial, temporarily and together with TB then published the narratives of the demonstrations negatively in the news about the prosecutor's office," he said.
Not only making narratives, Marcella Santoso and Junaedi Saabih also finance the organization of seminars, podcasts, and talk shows. The activity aims to direct negative narratives to the news.
"Redirecting negative narratives in the news to influence the evidence of cases at trial, then covered by the suspect TB and broadcasting them through Jak Tv and Jak Tv official accounts, including in Tik Tok and YouTube media," he said.
The actions of the suspects aim to form public opinion with negative news that corner the Prosecutor's Office and Jampidsus in handling corruption cases in tin trading procedures and sugar trading procedures, both during investigations and at the trial which is currently underway.

So that the prosecutor's performance is considered negative for the public, and the case is not followed up, or is not proven in court
"So their goal is clear by forming a negative opinion, as if what is handled by investigators is not right, disturbing the investigator's concentration, so it is hoped that, or their hope that the case can be released or at least disrupt the concentration of investigations," said Qohar.
