The Papuan KKB's Decisive Action, Bamsoet: They Really Care About Human Rights?

JAKARTA - The chairman of the MPR, Bambang Soesatyo, said that taking a firm stand against the armed criminal group (KKB) is not something that violates human rights, especially since there have been many victims as a result of the KKB.

"This is not about neglecting human rights. This is about the safety of the people. Do innocent killers care about human rights?" Said the Speaker of the MPR, Bambang Soesatyo in Jakarta, as reported by Antara, Wednesday

The state is obliged to respond firmly to the KKB action that has been fighting the state so far, which was marked by the killing of Kabinda Papua, a number of TNI-Polri soldiers, civilians to the burning of schools, houses and other property belonging to the community.

This affirmation was in response to PBHI's statement of attitude and mindset in seeing the continuing armed violence in Papua, which has claimed so many lives.

"PBHI should also appreciate and sympathize with all parties whose family members are victims of violence and even murder by KKB," said Bamsoet.

This Golkar politician also emphasized that he is ready to take responsibility for the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. "The important thing is that murderers, members of separatist movements and terrorists who do not care about human rights, are destroyed and flattened first," he said.

So that the people of Papua, continued Bamsoet, can live in peace and calm again. "If anyone questions my statement, we will discuss the matter of human rights later, as the leader of the MPR I am ready to set up a body and take responsibility," he said.

If PBHI claims to always fight for justice, he said he should also have sympathy for the state and all families of victims of violence and murder by KKB.

"Not only sympathize with KKB and defend their human rights," said Bamsoet.
