AKARTA - Central Kalimantan grieves. One of the pioneering figures and the founder of Central Kalimantan Province Sabran Achmad, died at the age of 91 years. He died after undergoing treatment at the Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Dr. Doris Sylvanus, Palangka Raya City.

"We must emulate and continue the struggle of the deceased," said Central Kalimantan Provincial Secretary Fahrizal Fitri after the funeral procession at the Sanaman Lampang Heroes Cemetery in Palangka Raya, reported by Antara, Wednesday, October 28.

Sabran Achmad, who was born on December 31, 1930, has become one of the highly respected figures in the province with the nickname "Bumi Tambun B Sungai, Bumi Pancasila".

Apart from being part of the founder of Central Kalimantan Province, he is also a veteran, has also been the head of the Central Kalimantan Provincial BPS, has served as an element in the leadership of the Central Kalimantan DPRD, has been Chairman of the Dayak Customary Council (DAD) of Central Kalimantan and is also a leader of the Dayak custom and community .

The funeral procession for Sabran Achmad, which was carried out militarily, was accompanied by a number of officials, community leaders and other parties who continued to apply health protocols.

"His struggle in developing Central Kalimantan will continue. We deeply grieve and hope that the deceased gets the best place on God's side," said the regional secretary.

Apart from the Central Kalimantan Regional Secretary, the Mayor of Palangka Raya, Fairid Naparin, also expressed his condolences at the funeral home.

"He is one of the Central Kalimantan figures who is currently the oldest and is very familiar with culture and customs, especially Dayak," said Fairid.

Fairid also admitted that every time she met, she received messages and learned how to be a good leader and statesman who fully devoted herself to the interests of society.

Meanwhile, the former Mayor of Palangka Raya for two periods, Riban Satia, who also represented his family, said Sabran Achmad was a wise figure, adhering to principles and also a protective figure.

"Even until now I have not found a figure like him, capable, agile and straightforward in communicating with various groups," said Riban.

Riban also invited the community, especially the younger generation, to emulate Sabran Achmad's way of thinking and actions as well as the struggle of Sabran Achmad in an effort to develop a more advanced and prosperous Central Kalimantan.
